In loving memory of my cousin Cassie
Cassie wasn’t just my cousin — she was more like a sister. From the time we were little, she filled every room — and every moment — with laughter, light, and pure joie de vivre.
She was generous from the very start — I’ll never forget how, at Christmas, she would hand out her toys to everyone with that classic Cassie line: “I need this back tomorrow.” It was so her — giving from the heart. Even when she wanted to keep a piece of joy close.
Her energy and imagination were endless. I can still picture her in her iconic summer outfit — bathing suit, life jacket, and rain boots — spending all day catching frogs. Everything was going perfectly until she forgot her bucket of frogs in the sun. Heartbroken but determined, she convinced my dad to help her create a full frog cemetery out back, complete with popsicle stick crosses from each little frog. That was Cassie — full of heart, creativity, and a deep sense of care for every living thing.
We shared so many memories together — including our first concert adventure, traveling solo to Ottawa to see New Kids on the Block. It felt like the biggest event in the world, and of course, Cassie made it unforgettable.
To my parents, Cassie and her mom Lise were always more than extended family — they were bonus daughters, loved and cherished as part of our family in every sense. That bond ran deeper than blood; it was woven with love, loyalty, and years of shared memories.
As a mom, Cassie has always been my inspiration. She navigated the triumphs and challenges of raising her “mini-me’s” with such grace, humour and joy. Her love and devotion for Quinten, Liam, Breanna, Kaelyn, Callee and Aishlinn was constant and visible in everything she did. She poured her whole heart into them — and that love will continue to live through them every day. Her incredible mom skills came naturally, thanks to the wonderful examples she had in her own mom and grandma, who taught her how to love fiercely, nurture deeply, and always lead with kindness.
Now she’s reunited with so many who loved her immensely and left too soon — her grandma, my parents, her uncles Bryan and Mick, and her dad John. I can only imagine the party they’re having up there — full of laughter, stories, music, mischief, and the same boundless love that always surrounded her.
And though she’s no longer here with us, we can feel her presence everywhere — in the little signs she sends, the sudden song that plays at just the right time, the laughter that echoes when we share a memory, or the warmth that wraps around us when we need it most. That’s Cassie, reminding us she’s still here — loving us, guiding us, and making sure we smile through our tears.
And if we listen closely, I’m sure we’ll hear her laughing somewhere — proudly claiming that Bryan Adams is her real dad, and that he’s serenading her right now.
Cassie’s kindness, humour, and boundless spirit touched everyone who knew her. Losing her leaves a space that words can’t fill, but her energy, generosity, and joie de vivre will always live on in us.
Rest peacefully, my beautiful cousin. You’ll always be part of us — and in the words of your “dad” Bryan Adams: EVERYTHING I DO … I DO IT FOR YOU

From the moment I found out my sister Lise was pregnant, I was filled with anticipation. I couldn’t wait to meet the little girl who would become such a huge part of my life. I remember the day we brought Cassie home—Lise, Cassie, and I all sharing a room. We were only ten years apart, but our bond felt timeless.
Cassie wasn’t just my niece—she was my sidekick, my confidante, my Boo. We spent so much time together over the years. She stayed with me often, especially once I had children of my own. We made memories on summer trips to Nova Scotia, long drives to Sudbury, and countless everyday moments filled with laughter and love.
Cassie had a wicked sense of humor. We shared secrets and swapped dirty jokes that would make most people blush. She was funny as hell, and her laughter was contagious. But beneath that humor was a woman of incredible strength. I was always so proud of her—for raising five beautiful children, earning her PSW certificate, and being a devoted wife and mother. She reminded me so much of my own mom—resilient, nurturing, and full of heart.
Just a week before this tragedy, Cassie called me. She was upset, and I wish I could have done more to ease her pain. But now, my sweet Boo, you are at peace. I pray for strength and healing for your precious babies, who carry your light forward.
Cassie, you touched so many lives with your warmth, your wit, and your unwavering love. You will always be my favorite niece and my best friend. There is a void in my heart that nothing can fill, but I will carry your memory with me, always.
Rest easy, my Boo. You made this world brighter.
With all my love,
Your Auntie Patty

Our heart aches for you all…
Cassie came into our lives through our daughters. I immediately felt a connection with her in our shared love for our children.
We often chatted about our jobs as PSWs, I always admired the way she talked about her work life. Cassie had so much empathy and compassion for her residents , even through all the changes and challenges of working in Long Term Care. I’m sure she touched so many of their hearts and helped brighten up their day in some way or another.
Her and Brads world revolved around creating a balance of fun memories and adventures with the family , while instilling values ..like hard work and personal goals& household responsibilities.
Truly admirable. This is not an easy task these days.
She welcomed our daughter into their family fun with open arms and treated her as if she were part of their family. This meant so much to us and our daughter.
Her 6 children are Cassie’s legacy , they are all unique in their beautiful personalities. They all carry a piece of Cassie’s integrity, ethics, sense of humour and values and just pure love for life!
She was a devote mother and her spirit and memory will forever shine bright through them!
This hurts us all - you will be remembered for all the beautiful things you are Cassie.
Your motherly light shines bright in all of us mamas.
We are and will always be there for your family Cassie . We will continue on with what you shared with all of us . Xo
