Obituary of Robert Leslie Sider
SIDER, Robert Leslie of Ridgeway, Ontario, passed unexpectedly on Wednesday October 22nd, 2025 and is now with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. A loyal husband, father, and grandfather, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Born in 1948 to the late Ross and Thelma Sider, Robert is survived by his wife, Joan (née Strongitharm), their three sons; Jeff (Heidi) of Kitchener, Jonathan (Laura) of Guelph, Jason (Liz) of Ridgeway, his sister Betty-Lou Anderson (Mike) of Lancaster, PA, brother-in-law Paul Strongitharm (Marilyn) of Stittsville, and sister-in-law Barb Anderson (Jim) of Creekside, BC. He was the proud grandfather of Evan and Bethany, Duncan and Annie, and Noah, Elleigh, and Joel.
For over 30 years, Robert was a dedicated employee at Rich Products of Canada. Outside of work, he pursued his interest in woodcarving as a member of the Niagara Woodcarvers Association. He cherished spending summer days with his family at the cottage at Lime Lake, creating lasting memories. Robert was actively involved in area churches throughout his life.
Music was a lifelong passion for Robert. He shared his gift by singing in a quartet, with the Niagara Choral Society, in His Signature Singers, and in his church choir. Robert found great joy in helping others, always offering his time and support to anyone in need. His kindness and willingness to serve will be remembered by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Sunday October 26th from 6 to 9 pm at Williams Funeral Services, 722 Ridge Road N in Ridgeway. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday October 27th at 11 am at Golden Harvest Baptist Church, 3130 Point Abino Rd N in Stevensville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Golden Harvest Baptist Church building fund or ShareWord Global Fund Canada.
