Obituary of Veronica Louise Da Costa
VERONICA LOUISE DA COSTA (MERSON)
Passed away suddenly on Monday June 23rd, 2025 in her 60th year.
She is predeceased by her parents Phillip and Patricia Merson, her best friend Joseph Grenier and her granddaughter, Eva. We know her beloved dogs Santana, Hades, and Chilly will all be waiting for her. Her dog Oakley will miss her cuddles dearly until they’re together again.
She is survived by her siblings Tracy Wintemute and Martin Merson as well as her niece and nephews.
Veronica was an absolutely out-of-this-world mother to Alanah DaCosta (John), Jennifer MacKay (Trevor), Monique Grenier, Lily-Ann Merson, and Shelby Grenier.
Veronica will always be remembered as a funny, loving, and caring soul in the community. She was the kind of person who always helped anyone she could and kept her door open to both people and animals. She treated all of her daughter’s friends like they were her own children. She loved doing her 5D diamond paintings and watching the same TV shows over and over.
She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Tanner, Alekzander and Colton, as well as by her dear friend Donald Fawcett, with whom she built a life with for over a decade.
As one of her favourite songs says, she was a “beautiful crazy” soul.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Williams Funeral Services has been entrusted with arrangements. A Celebration of her Life will take place on Saturday August 23rd. More details to follow. Memorial donations in her honour may be made to the Fort Erie SPCA, and would be appreciated by her family.
