It is with deep sorrow that we share the peaceful passing of John Baumanis on Thursday, June 5, 2025. Born on May 30, 1957, John became a cherished part of the Community Living Fort Erie family in 1965, following the founding of the agency by his mother, Debora.

John was predeceased by his father, Larry, his mother, Debora, and his brother Peter. He is survived by his devoted sister Ruth, sister-in-law Carole, nephews Alex, Nicholas, and great-niece Jenna. He is also lovingly remembered by his dear friend Cheryl Bailey, along with her family—John’s true extended family.

John will be fondly remembered for his love of Kenny Rogers, his passion for travel, his admiration for beautiful women, and his enthusiasm for wrestling. He had a gentle and kind spirit and found great joy in the company of his friends. One of his favorite pastimes was singing karaoke, which never failed to bring a smile to his face and brighten the room.

He leaves behind many who will miss him dearly, including his housemates, with whom he shared countless moments of joy, and the dedicated staff who cared for him with compassion and unwavering commitment. Their devotion ensured that John’s life was filled with comfort, adventure, and happiness.

John’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the honour of knowing him. His legacy of love, kindness, and joy will continue to inspire everyone who was fortunate enough to be part of his life. He will be deeply missed—but never forgotten.
