Robert Allen Sims, the last surviving child of Alfred and Ruth Sims passed away at the Maple Park Lodge on February 5^th, 2023 at the age of 88.  Predeceased by siblings Charles, Irene, Fred, Evelyn, Earl, Ed, Jean, Gord and Winston.  Sadly missed by his children Joanne Sims, Dianne Sims Daily, Scott (Barb) Sims.  He was a cherished grandfather to Stacey Poulin, Jaclyn Rhodes, Karen (Ryan) Bellefielle, Joseph Roach, Nicole Richards and Jamie Leigh (Troy) Garrah.  His stories will live on with his great grandchildren, Chelsy, Tristan, Charlie, Henry, Jayden, Andie and great great grandchildren Emma, Samantha, Sydney and Erica.

An athlete and outdoorsman, Bob played hockey til he was in his 60s for teams like the Fort Erie Frontiers and was a member of the Old Timers League.  A life member of the Bertie Boat Club, you would often find him on the lake with a rod in his hand or in the bush hunting.

It seems appropriate that we should celebrate his life in the manner he wished, with a party on his birthday weekend at the Bertie Boat Club.  We invite family and friends to join us August 19^th from 2 pm until 6 pm as we share stories and enjoy a cocktail in memory of a fun loving man.
